Erythropoietin: function and therapeutic potential

نویسندگان

چکیده

Erythropoietin (EPO) exerts its effect on erythroid lineage cells through interaction with the EPO receptor (EPOR), so-called canonical pathway, and a complex consisting of EPOR common cytokine beta subunit (CD131) – non-canonical pathway for non-hematopoietic human animal body. realizes effects launch signaling cascade, which begins phosphorylation Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) then involvement phosphatidylinositol-3 B (PI3K) or Ras-mitogen-activated protein (MAPK) signal transducers transcription activators (STAT). exhibits direct cytoprotective increased CD131 expression subsequent development anti-apoptotic anti-inflammatory in target cells. In addition to use treatment anemia, is increasingly being used correction inflammatory degenerative processes, both experimental clinical studies. promotes engraftment stem cells, differentiation mesenchymal connective tissue direction, suppresses response apoptosis lesion. The article includes literature data concerning based from eLibrary National Center Biotechnological Information (NCBI) period 1998–2022.

Human rhabdomyosarcoma cells express functional erythropoietin receptor: Potential therapeutic implications

The erythropoietin receptor (EpoR) is expressed by cells from the erythroid lineage; however, evidence has accumulated that it is also expressed by some solid tumors. This is an important observation, because recombinant erythropoietin (EPO) is employed in cancer patients to treat anemia related to chemo/radiotherapy. In our studies we employed eight rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) cell lines (three alv...

Erythropoietin and Hypertension Erythropoietin Increases Expression and Function of Transient Receptor Potential Canonical 5 Channels

Hypertension is a common complication in hemodialysis patients during erythropoietin (EPO) treatment. The underlying mechanisms of EPO-induced hypertension still remain to be determined. Increased transient receptor potential canonical (TRPC) channels have been associated with hypertension. Now, TRPC gene expression was investigated using quantitative real-time RT-PCR and immunoblotting in cult...

S100A1: Structure, Function, and Therapeutic Potential.

S100A1 is a member of the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins. As with most S100 proteins, S100A1 undergoes a large conformational change upon binding calcium as necessary to interact with numerous protein targets. Targets of S100A1 include proteins involved in calcium signaling (ryanidine receptors 1 & 2, Serca2a, phopholamban), neurotransmitter release (synapsins I & II), cytoskeletal and...

TLE1 function and therapeutic potential in cancer

Groucho (Gro)/Transducin-like enhancer of split (TLE) family proteins act as co-repressors of many transcription factors, and are involved in key signaling pathways. TLE1 negatively regulates inflammation and has potential roles in various diseases, including cancer. Previous studies suggest TLE1 could be used as a diagnostic marker and is a possible therapeutic target in various malignancies. ...

compactifications and function spaces on weighted semigruops

chapter one is devoted to a moderate discussion on preliminaries, according to our requirements. chapter two which is based on our work in (24) is devoted introducting weighted semigroups (s, w), and studying some famous function spaces on them, especially the relations between go (s, w) and other function speces are invesigated. in fact this chapter is a complement to (32). one of the main fea...
